Each year, seminal Leeds record label Dance To The Radio host a bit of a Leeds Festival warm-up show, and they’ve just announced this year’s acts getting the August Bank Holiday weekend party started on the Thursday night.

Over the last ten years, the Welcome To Leeds Festival event has seen acts such as ¡Forward, Russia!, Wild Beasts, Pulled Apart By Horses, Young Knives take to the stage.

This year sees the return of Dance To The Radio stalwarts THE PIGEON DETECTIVES who will be celebrating the tenth anniversary of their debit album Wait For Me with a hugely popular pair of shows at the O2 Academy in Leeds later this year.

The Leeds band will be joined by Brighton indie-pop upstarts HIGH TYDE, psych-pop five-piece FLING, our faves MARSICANS and gritty alt-rock trio DEAD NAKED HIPPIES.

The event is usually held on what will be the BBC Introducing Stage over the Bank Holiday weekend, but this year it’s being bumped up the the Festival Republic Stage – a bigger party and (all-importantly) under cover.

The Dance To The Radio Welcome To Leeds Festival show kicks off at 7pm. If you want tickets to Leeds Festival at Bramham Park, there are still a few weekend passes available.

The weekend sees KASABIAN, MUSE and EMINEM headlining, along with LIAM GALLAGHER, BLOSSOMS, BASTILLE, JIMMY EAT WORLD, KORN and more on the Main Stage, while across the weekend, ace new bands like PALE WAVES, KING NO ONE, COLOURING and Centre Stage winners AVENOIR.
