Funeral For A Friend back with killer tune and new tour

Welsh rockers FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND have just announced a new tour early next year in support of their sixth album, Conduit, available to pre-order today (out January 28). The five piece have two Yorkshire dates next February, so there’s no excuse to miss out…

Ten years since their debut EP Between Order And Model came out, FFAF seem to have gone back to their hardcore roots with Conduit, judging by the great new single Best Friends And Hospital Beds – check out the video below.

I bloody loved Casually Dressed… – powerful and uplifting – and this tune takes me back to the days when post-hardcore was post-hardcore. Frontman Matt says of the album: “It wears its heart on its sleeve in terms of it representing the scene of music that spawned us. It’s not trying to be a rebirth or anything cheesy like that. It’s just honest and I hope that’s evident from those who listen to it. In my heart it would be rad for people to take these songs and love them as much as the others they love and come to a show on a tour and sing them as hard to us as we do to them. That would be beautiful.”

The album can be pre-ordered today HERE – there’s all formats from a megre MP3 version to CD, vinyl and a special boxset including a signed poster, t-shirt, exclusive hand-written making of booklet and cassette. Cassette! Kids, ask your parents about these. All but the MP3 album comes with an exclusive second live CD of the band’s performance at the Roundhouse in London last year.

So to the tour – a 23-date jaunt, calling in at more intimate venues around the country. These guys like to keep it up-close and personal with the mosh-pits. They’re dropping by the Duchess in York on Monday, February 11 and the Cockpit in Leeds the next day, Tuesday, February 12.

Tickets for the shows can be snapped up HERE before they go on sale on Monday (October 15). They’re £14, which ain’t bad at all.
