Get ready for the Clown Princes of punk

We woke up to some great news this morning. One of the best West Coast punk bands of all time ever is heading to lil’ ol’ Yorkshire for an intimate show as part of a tiny UK tour. They say size doesn’t matter…

Blasting out of the San Fernando Valley the same year as the first Star Wars film hit cinemas, THE DICKIES have been huge (in a way that underground punk bands can be huge) on this side of the pond.

They even hit the Charts back in 1979 with their wired reworking of the Banana Splits theme tune. Pretty much everyone on Earth would have heard that. If not, click on the video below and enjoy the madness.

Still going strong 34 years on (though their band member turnaround puts the Sugababes to shame), the Cali-punk stalwarts are heading back to the UK for a couple of small shows – one in Newcastle and one in Leeds.

We’re not sure how raucous they’re going to be these days, but you can bet the show will be a total blast.

The Dickies are playing at Brudenell Social Club on Monday, July 18.
Tickets go on sale at 12pm today (Thursday, Jan 6) from HERE.
