News has just hit people’s social media feeds this morning that former Beach Boys legend BRIAN WILSON is set to play an intimate show at Leeds Town Hall this summer.
Safe to say we’re feeling all the Good Vibrations.
Wilson, who returns to the UK for a string of shows in June, was due to play Leeds first direct Arena back in 2015, but was forced to cancel due to schedule conflicts when his biopic Love And Mercy was a big box office hit.
The rescheduled dates didn’t include a Leeds show, so five years later, it’s amazing to have him finally in the city for his Good Vibrations Greatest Hits show with fellow Beach Boy Al Jardine and legendary guitarist and long-time bandmate Blondie Chaplin.
The Beach Boys were one of the first bands I fell in love with and their hearing their harmonies while my mum (who also adores them) was doing housework is probably the first musical memory I have.
I was lucky enough to catch the whole band one last time on their 50th anniversary tour, and have seen Brian Wilson a few times, so to finally see him on home turf will be nothing short of spectacular.
Other dates on the tour include Brighton, London Glasgow, Gateshead, Birmingham, Nottingham, Manchester, Bournemouth, Cardiff, Blackpool and Cambridge.
