INTRODUCING >> Centre Stage 2013 finalist: Pony & Trap

Now then, this art-pop pair got me rather excited in the CENTRE STAGE 2013 heats back in April. Singer/percussionist Sally and guitarist Tom had this awesome lo-fi Yeah Yeah Yeahs kind of vibe about them. They were definitely one of my favourite acts of the heats.

So it’s nice to see them doing so well since. They’ve recently won The Marshall Award for The Best Live Performance at The British Music Student Awards (presented to them by Edith Bowman), so it’s clearly not just me that thinks they’re pretty damn fine.

After their Centre Stage finals tomorrow night, the duo are heading down south for the small matter of appearing at Latitude Festival. All in a day’s work, really…

I’m REALLY looking forward to Pony And Trap’s show tomorrow night, and after they introduced us to their new Launchpad on Facebook last month, I’m hoping for more samples and loops to give their tunes some electronic spark.

>> PONY AND TRAP are in the Centre Stage 2013 finals, along with ten other acts, at the O2 Academy Leeds tomorrow. Tickets (£6.50/£4.50 NUS) are available HERE.
