Marsicans announce debut album details and tour dates

Leeds indie darlings MARSICANS have just revealed details of their debut album as well as a UK tour later this year and two very special album launch shows.

The band, who’ve been firm favourites of ours for years now, will be released Ursa Major on Friday May 22 on Killing Moon Records.

It was recorded at Rockfield studios in Wales – where Queen, Coldplay and Oasis recorded some iconic music – over the last year with long-time producer Mickey Dale of Embrace.

The four-piece put out a new song from the album today. You can hear Juliet below:

Marsicans are heading back out on tour later this year for a string of shows around the UK, ending with a hometown show at Leeds Beckett University.

The dates are:

October 14 – Tunnels, Aberdeen
October 15 – King Tut’s, Glasgow
October 17 – Gorilla, Manchester
October 21 – Thekla, Bristol
October 22 – SCALA, London
October 24 – Leeds Becket University

Before then, though, they’ll be playing two super special album release shows at their favourite Leeds bar (probably) Oporto on Friday, May 22.

Co-hosted by Jumbo Records and Crash Records, you can pick up tickets for the intimate affair and a copy of Ursa Major at either store. Both have a lovely clear yellow vinyl, which looks ace.

More details on that show here or here.
