North Acoustic Boys…

Happy New Year!! Hope the hangovers have finally subsided now that normal service has resumed…

No sooner have they seen out 2010 with a tiny show at Fibbers in York, THE CHARLATANS announce a return to Yorkshire later in the year.

The Madchester stalwarts treated their York visit as a warm-up for their Edinburgh Hogmanay show – a first to feature drummer Jon Brookes since he suffered a brain tumour in September.

Plucking all the fan favourites out of their substantial back catalogue, the band tore through a near-two-hour set, but their forthcoming Leeds gig will be a more subdued affair.

Tim Burgess and Mark Collins will be packing up their guitars heading out on a week-long acoustic tour around the North, playing at the Brudenell Social Club on Friday, March 11.

Expect delicate versions of hits from a 20-year career, from The Only One I Know to My Foolish Pride

Tickets are available from HERE (£16).

Support comes from indie-folk troupe AARON WRIGHT & THE APRILS and Geordie psychedelic rockers THE WATCHERS
