Oh, for Pete’s sake, looks who’s back…

Who loved the short-lived LIBERTINES reunion last summer? Seems like a distant memory now, Carl n Pete belting out Can’t Stand Me Now from the Main Stage at Leeds Festival. But all is not lost. Mr Doherty is heading back to Leeds later in the year for a solo show…

The former (??) Libertines and Babyshambles singer – and now jewellery designer – is packing up his guitar and hitting the road for the first time in ages on his own.

Sometimes shambolic (excuse the pun), always captivating, PETE DOHERTY (or Peter, as he was known by more than just his mum when he released his own record Grace/Wastelands in 2009) will be entertaining at the O2 Academy Leeds on Thursday, May 19.

Whether you’re a Libs fan or a Shambles fan, this will be one show not to miss. His reputation of being troubled tabloid-fodder tends to go before him, but beyond the twisted knives of the Daily Mail headlines is a canny musician, inspired poet and thoroughly nice chap (I’ve always maintained that since first interviewing him waaaaay back in the day, before he went and burgled Carl’s gaff and caused plenty of bother by taking lots of drugs).

Tickets go on sale on Friday, January 28 at 9am. Click HERE or HERE to get yours – be quick as the show will be mighty popular.
