It’s been 18 months since RAE MORRIS was last in Leeds. Her sold-out show at The Wardrobe with her long-time collaborator and now boyf Fryars was so good. So it’s great to see that they’re both back in action on her new single.
Do It came out on Friday, and is the second offering from her second album, due out next year. It’s a fizzy burst of electro-pop, Rae’s meticulous delivery nods to her new relationship with Fryars and references over shimmering synths and skipping percussion.
“This song is a dare to myself,” says Morris of Do It. “It’s about daring to take a risk and choosing to take the more exciting route! It kind of exists as a part two of Cold (her duet with Fryars) from my first album Unguarded.
“It’s what happens when you go back into the studio to make more music. Do you write another duet and do a similar thing, or take a risk and do something you’ve never done before? It’s also pretty damn sexy!”
