Yesterday evening, Y NOT FESTIVAL announced their pretty cracking line-up for this summer’s bash, but despite the controversy surrounding safety aspects of last year’s event, the Derbyshire festival has been embroiled in further whoo-ha.
Sheffield indie rockers THE SHERLOCKS appeared on the poster, but it seems they took umbrage at being positioned below THE AMAZONS and set in smaller type. So they’ve switched shit up and bumped themselves further up the bill.
Can you spot the difference?
They’ve been called out on the less-than-subtle shift on social media since, and the band have allegedly been on a bit of a blocking frenzy to those people with eyes pointing out the difference in their poster.
A bit of bullish bravado, band beef with The Amazons or brazen marketing methods? It’s elementary, my dear Watson…
**UPDATE** The Sherlocks have now deleted their poster from their socials, but not before people managed to take screengrabs. Oh, internet.
Aside from this bit of controversy, it’s great to see Y Not Festival back on form with a great line-up including headliners THE LIBERTINES, CATFISH AND THE BOTTLEMEN and JAMIROQUAI. Also further down the bill (without feeling the need for self-promotion) are York’s indie darlings KING NO-ONE, who are already filling up their summer festival schedule rather nicely.
Tickets for Y Not are on sale now from HERE. The first tier of tickets have already sold out, proving the issues surrounding last year’s festival will soon become a dim and distant memory.
