After a pretty amazing tenth anniversary party this year, LIVE AT LEEDS festival is set to return to venues around the city next April – and the first few acts to appear have just been revealed.
Following a bloody impressive headline show at the Brudenell Social Club (it was definitely one of those ‘were you there’ moments) in 2015, punk duo SLAVES are heading back to the festival which hits multiple venues around Leeds on April 29.
Their second album, produced by Mike D of Beastie Boys fame, is another riot of vibrant, essential noise. It’s likely to elevate their live shows into the stratosphere. Their Live At Leeds return is going to be mental.
Also returning to the festival are alt-pop four-piece WILD BEASTS. It’s been quite a while since they played Live At Leeds, but they’re no strangers to our city, having relocated here from Kendal when they settled on their current line-up and released their debut EP more than a decade ago.
WHITE LIES, who recently played at the Uni on their current UK tour, will be joining JAGWAR MA and Leeds lads PIGEON DETECTIVES, whose new album Broken Glances is out next February.
Also on the bill are TELEMAN, JAWS, BLACK HONEY, THE BIG MOON and LETS EAT GRANDMA – just five names which exemplify Live At Leeds’ ethos of bringing fresh, vibrant and diverse acts to the city each year.
The new music continues with THE AMAZONS, THE MAGIC GANG, SUPERFOOD, FLAMINGODS and FREAK and a wealth of Yorkshire acts including NGOD, MARSICANS, CLAY, THE OPERA COMIC, TEAM PICTURE and LAMIA.
And then there’s NILUFER YANYA, BRIAN DEADY, THE NIGHT CAFÉ, THE BAY RAYS, BLACKWATERS, THE PALE WHITE, COLOURING, FANGCLUB, GURR, LUXURY DEATH, KLLO and BAD SOUNDS. It’s going to be an absolute blast.
Live At Leeds will take place Saturday, April 29, 2017, with wristbands priced at £32.50. Tickets are available now from liveatleeds.com.
