With their new album GLA out only a few days, Glaswegian rockers TWIN ATLANTIC headed to Leeds last night to give fans and up-close and personal introduction to some ace new tunes.

The event at Headrow House in the city centre was hosted by indie record store Crash Records, just a couple of doors down from the venue.

Twin Atlantic fans who’d pre-ordered the album from the shop filled the room and awaited the four-piece to take the stage for a special ‘in-store’ performance.

As a ferocious storm raged outside, the band tore through a handful of tracks from GLA – opening with the thunderous Gold Elephant::Cherry Alligator, all pounding drums and jagged riffs while singer Sam McTrusty spits out fuzzy venom.

It’s clear they’ve roughed-up the polished sounds from last album Great Divide, but despite the grit inspired by their home city, these tunes still shine.

The rather brief but brilliant set – You Are The Devil, Ex El, The Chaser and No Sleep – serves as a mere teaser for what to expect when they return to Leeds next month for a show at Becketts University Union with Pulled Apart By Horses and Fang Club. We can’t wait for that show. it’s going to be insane.

The band then move from the stage to the back of the room to get all those records and posters signed, taking the time to chat to each fan as a very British queue forms round the venue.
