News just in from the first direct arena – the awesome VAMPIRE WEEKEND and NOAH AND THE WHALE are heading to the 13,500-capacity venue in November for what will be a pretty special Saturday night out.
Both bands were great at Glastonbury Festival last weekend, so the announcement is well-timed for those who only caught the BBC footage and want to see them in the flesh.
Last time I saw Vampire Weekend was when they were plugging their debut album and they were great. Their new album Modern Vampires Of The City is class – and from what was shown on the telly, the new tunes will sound ace live at the Arena.
And I don’t think I’ve seen Noah And The Whale before. Maybe at Leeds Festival, but I’ve got no memory of the event. Again, their new album Heart Of Nowhere is fab – I hammered it while doing nothing by a swimming pool for a week. A fitting soundtrack to a very lazy holiday.
