HARRY GEORGE JOHNS. You may not recognise the name (you should, to be fair), but you’ll recognise the red-hatted rocker from Dinosaur Pile-Up and Old Romantic Killer Band. He’s gone solo, armed with some amazing tunes, recounting a dark time for Harry with staggering honesty.
Here, he’s at his most open. Hospital Blues is as beautiful as it is bleak. Enjoy:

He’s just played at Nation Of Shopkeepers, which isn’t much help to you if you want to go check him out. Neither is the fact that he’s playing in London with Amelia Curran on Tuesday, February 5 at the amazingly-named Slaughtered Lamb. Unless you’re in the Big Smoke that night.
So when’s he going to play round these parts again? Dunno yet, but he’s bound to do a few shows next month to push his mini album Post Breakdown Blues – out February 11. More news on that nearer the time. Head over to his Facebook page for all things HGJ.
